The Maxal Group and Hartz Mountain Industries will soon open the doors to their new 236-unit luxury apartment building at the edge of the Hudson River in Weehawken.

The joint venture announced Wednesday that it has kicked off leasing at the property, known as Harbor 1500, within the Lincoln Harbor neighborhood. The property, which extends more than 764 feet from the shoreline out over the Hudson River, offers a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments and more than 40,000 square feet of high-end amenity space.

Starting rents range from $2,190 for studios and to $4,110 for two-bedroom units, the developers said.

“We knew that Harbor 1500 was a special location from the first time we saw that the property extended out onto the water, providing an unparalleled living experience,” Bruce Sturman of The Maxal Group said. “The uniqueness of the building’s horizontal configuration allows for stunning Manhattan and Hudson River views from just about every apartment.”

Designed by Minno & Wasko Architects and Planners, the project is Hartz Mountain’s latest addition to the 60-acre Lincoln Harbor neighborhood, which has long been home to residential, retail, restaurant, office and hotel space. The firm is also developing a new Whole Foods store that will open across the street from Harbor 1500.

“We have been involved in the development of the Lincoln Harbor neighborhood for years, and the area is absolutely thriving,” said Gus Milano, Hartz Mountain’s president, “so, we knew there was a demand for luxury residences in what is quickly becoming one of the most desirable live-work-play destinations along New Jersey’s Gold Coast.”

Along with the property’s upscale interiors, Maxal and Hartz also touted Lincoln’s Harbor’s mass transit access, which includes bus, light rail and ferry service. The neighborhood is adjacent to the Lincoln Tunnel entrance, while providing access to open space such as the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway and the recently built, 400-foot Weehawken Pier.

Meantime, the firms noted that most Harbor 1500 residents will enjoy sweeping views of Manhattan that go from the George Washington Bridge to the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge, adding that each second-floor unit includes a 16-foot-wide terrace.

Amenities include two landscaped rooftop decks, a rooftop pool and hot tub and a screening room, according to a news release. The joint venture also highlighted features such as a tasting room with prep kitchen and Wolf appliances, a children’s room and a fitness center with high-end equipment and yoga and spin studios and a retractable glass wall to the outside.
